A: Good morning, it’s 17 April．A strong earthquake hit Ecuador yesterday．The 7．8magnitude earthquake damaged many buildings, and early reports said that about 230 people were killed and more than 1，500 were injured．Volunteers and rescue workers are helping the survivors．

B: Good evening．Today is 27 March．More news about the floods in central China．The government is helping more than 12，000 people in Hunan and Jiangxi get away from the rising water．Homes and land have been destroyed, but no one has been killed．Rescue workers and soldiers are working day and night to make sure that people are safe．They are also bringing food and water to those whose homes were lost in the disaster．

Listening Tips
1．注意細(xì)節(jié)
Think about what you are listening for before you listen: numbers, dates, times, addresses, activities, people or places, reasons, etc．
2．巧辨連讀
聽(tīng)力中有很多連讀，如果不知道很容易聽(tīng)不清或者聽(tīng)錯(cuò)，所謂連讀，指的是詞與詞之間交界的兩個(gè)音會(huì)經(jīng)常連在一起，發(fā)音時(shí)好像連成一個(gè)較長(zhǎng)的單詞。聽(tīng)力中常見(jiàn)的連讀形式：
(1)輔元連讀：在一個(gè)句子或短語(yǔ)中，前一個(gè)單詞以輔音結(jié)尾，后一個(gè)單詞以元音開(kāi)頭時(shí)，需要將輔音和元音在一起連讀。如：if I, for a walk, on a winter’s day。
(2)元元連讀：第一種，在一個(gè)句子或短語(yǔ)中，前一個(gè)單詞的發(fā)音以/I/或/aI/結(jié)尾，后一個(gè)單詞以元音開(kāi)頭時(shí)，中間加一個(gè)半元音/j/，如：I am．．．第二種，在一個(gè)句子或短語(yǔ)中，前一個(gè)單詞的發(fā)音以/u/或/uː/結(jié)尾，后一個(gè)單詞以元音開(kāi)頭時(shí)，加一個(gè)半元音/w/，如：you are, who are。
