Alice was sitting with her sister by the river and her sister was reading a book. Alice had nothing to do. Once or twice she looked into her sister’s book. “And what is a book for,” thought Alice, “ without pictures or conversations?” Suddenly a white rabbit with pink eyes ran by.
There was nothing strange about that. She heard the rabbit say, “Oh dear! Oh dear! I’ll be late!” and she did not think it was strange. Then the rabbit took a watch out of its pocket and looked at it. A rabbit with a pocket and a watch? Alice got up and ran across the field after it . She saw it go down a large rabbit hole in the ground.
【知識(shí)點(diǎn)1】across, cross, through 和 over 的區(qū)別：
①across是介詞，意為“穿過，橫跨，橫穿，穿越”，強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作是在物體的表面進(jìn)行，如過河，過橋，過馬路，常和表示“走”一類的動(dòng)詞（如：go，walk，run，fly，jump等）連用。
The little girl ran across the road. 這個(gè)小女孩橫穿馬路。
②cross是動(dòng)詞，表示“穿過，越過，渡過”。相當(dāng)于go/walk across。
Be careful when you cross the street. 過街時(shí)你要小心。
③through是介詞，強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作是在物體的內(nèi)部空間進(jìn)行，如穿過森林、沙漠、門、窗戶、隧道，光線射入等。
The river runs through the city. 這條河從這座城市中間流過。
④over是介詞，用作“穿過、通過”時(shí)，側(cè)重越過某種障礙物（如樹、墻、籬笆和山脈等）。

【知識(shí)點(diǎn)2】hear sb. do sth.和hear sb. doing sth.的區(qū)別
①hear sb. do sth. 意為“聽見某人做某事”。強(qiáng)調(diào)聽見了事情的全過程，動(dòng)作已經(jīng)結(jié)束，或“聽見某人經(jīng)常做某事”，是省略to的動(dòng)詞不定式作賓語補(bǔ)足語。類似用法的有see/watch/hear/notice sb. do sth.等。
We often hear him sing this song. 我們經(jīng)常聽到他唱這首歌。
②hear sb. doing sth. 意為“聽見某人正在做某事”。強(qiáng)調(diào)聽見的動(dòng)作正在進(jìn)行。此處是現(xiàn)在分詞作賓語補(bǔ)足語。類似用法的有see/watch/hear/notice sb. doing sth.等。
I heard someone knocking at the door. 我聽見有人在敲門。
【知識(shí)點(diǎn)3】too…to… 意為“太……而不能……”
too是副詞，后接形容詞或副詞原級(jí)，to 后接動(dòng)詞原形。此結(jié)構(gòu)用肯定形式表示否定意義，后面不定式的邏輯主語可用for引出。
My coffee is too hot to drink. 我的咖啡太燙，沒法喝。
Wei Ming said English was too difficult (for him) to learn well. 魏明說英語太難，他學(xué)不好。
