①after it與動(dòng)詞run連用，意為“跟著它跑，追趕著它”。run after也是一個(gè)固定詞組，意為“追求，追捕，追趕”。

②【辨析】cross，across與crossing
cross作動(dòng)詞，意為“穿過”，指從物體表面穿過；across作介詞，意為“橫過，穿過”，從一邊到另一邊；crossing作名詞，意為“路口”。
【注意】若動(dòng)詞go，run，swim等后接上across，就相當(dāng)于cross。

nothing是不定代詞，strange是形容詞，形容詞修飾不定代詞時(shí)，要放在不定代詞之后。

eg：The sun goes down in the west.太陽在西方落下。
►while表示“當(dāng)……時(shí)候”，主要用于引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句。while引導(dǎo)的從句中的謂語動(dòng)詞必須是延續(xù)性或表示狀態(tài)的詞。
►【辨析】think of與think about
①兩者表示“考慮，對(duì)……有某種看法”時(shí)，可互換使用。
eg：They are thinking about/of buying a new car.他們正在考慮買一輛新車。
What do you think of/about the film？你認(rèn)為那部影片怎么樣？
②think of表示“想到，想起”等意義時(shí)，不能與think about互換。
eg：Who thought of the idea？誰想到的那個(gè)主意？
I can't think of his name.我想不起他的名字。
