句式一 not only...but（also）... 不但……而且……
可以連接兩個在語法上并列的單詞、短語或分句。

Not only can you post specific questions， but you can also broaden your knowledge by reading posts from other English learners around the world. 你不僅可以發(fā)布具體的問題，而且還可以通過閱讀來自世界各地其他英語學(xué)習者的帖子來拓寬你的知識面。
【要點必記】
（1）Not only A but also B + 謂語動詞 + 其他.（謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)由 B 決定，即： 就近原則）；
（2）not only... but also... 連接兩個分句且 not only... 位于句首時，not only 后的分句要用部分倒裝語序，但 but also 后的分句不倒裝，即“前倒后不倒”。
【學(xué)法點撥】
類似not only... but also... 連接并列主語， 謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)依據(jù)就近原則的結(jié)構(gòu)還有：
neither... nor...
either... or...
not... but...
句式二 介詞+ what 從句
【教材原句】
People say that the British always play safe with what they eat.
人們說英國人對待吃的東西總是很謹慎。
【句式分析】
句中what 引導(dǎo)賓語從句，作介詞with 的賓語，意為“所……的事/ 人”，相當于the thing（s）/ the person（s）that...。
My mind wasn’t on what he was saying， so I’m afraid I missed half of it.
我的心思沒在他說的話上，恐怕我錯過了一半。
【誤區(qū)警示】
（1）what 引導(dǎo)名詞性從句時，what 在 從句中作主語、賓語或表語；而that 引導(dǎo)名詞性從句時在從句中只起連接作用，不作任何句子成分。that 在賓語從句中通常省略，但在主語從句、表語從句和同位語從句中均不能省略。
（2）介詞后一般不接that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句。
You can depend on that he promised to you. （×）
You can depend on what he promised to you.（√）
你可以指望他允諾你的東西。
