【句法分析】
led by Professor Eli Schlizerman at the university of Washington 是 過去 分 詞 短語(yǔ)，在句中作后置定語(yǔ)，修飾 a team of scientists。a team of scientists 與 lead 是被動(dòng)關(guān)系。
【要點(diǎn)必記】
分詞（短語(yǔ)）作定語(yǔ)
（1）作定語(yǔ)的分詞如果是單個(gè)分詞，要放在所修飾的名詞之前；如果是分詞短語(yǔ)，
則放在所修飾的名詞之后。
The new product finally passed the required test. 新產(chǎn)品終于通過了要求的測(cè)試。（前置定語(yǔ)）
It is a house built by the ancient Romans.它是一棟古羅馬人建的房屋。（后置定語(yǔ)）
（2）一般來(lái)講，現(xiàn)在分詞與過去分詞都可作定語(yǔ)，但現(xiàn)在分詞表示主動(dòng)的、正在進(jìn)行的含義，而過去分詞表示被動(dòng)的、已經(jīng)完成的含義。
（3）不及物動(dòng)詞的過去分詞作定語(yǔ)時(shí)，不表示被動(dòng)，只強(qiáng)調(diào)完成；不及物動(dòng)詞的現(xiàn)
在分詞作定語(yǔ)時(shí)，強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作正在進(jìn)行。它們一般都放在所修飾的名詞之前。請(qǐng)比較不及物動(dòng)詞的過去分詞與現(xiàn)在分詞作定語(yǔ)的區(qū)別：
fallen leaves 落葉
falling leaves 正在飄落的樹葉
the risen sun 已升起的太陽(yáng)
the rising sun 正在冉冉升起的太陽(yáng)
a returned student 已歸國(guó)的學(xué)生
a returning student 歸國(guó)途中的學(xué)生
